Empowering Lives, Restoring Dignity - 23 March 2026

On 23 March 2026, the National Disability Council of Namibia (NDCN) proudly received assistive devices from the Rotary Club of Keetmanshoop during an official handover ceremony held at Central Lodge, Keetmanshoop.

This meaningful collaboration marks an important step toward improving accessibility and enhancing the quality of life for persons with disabilities across Namibia.

This generous contribution represents more than just the provision of assistive devices it is a powerful investment in dignity, independence, and equal participation in society. These devices will play a crucial role in improving mobility, accessibility, and overall well-being for persons with disabilities across the country.

The NDCN extends its sincere appreciation to the Rotary Club of Keetmanshoop for its continued support and partnership in driving inclusion and social change.

Strengthening Disability Data for Inclusive Development -16 March 2026

The National Disability Council of Namibia (NDCN) is continuing the Disability Disaggregated Data Expansion Project through a two-day training workshop currently taking place at Swakopmund Plaza Hotel in the Erongo Region.

The training equips participants with the knowledge and tools needed to collect accurate and reliable disability data. This data will help identify gaps, better understand the lived experiences of persons with disabilities, and support evidence-based policy and programme development.

Following the training, enumerators will begin data collection from 1 April to 1 May, contributing to efforts aimed at strengthening disability data systems across Namibia.
 
Through this initiative, the NDCN continues to promote informed decision-making, inclusive development, and meaningful representation of persons with disabilities in the country’s development agenda.

Strengthening Awareness on the Revised National Policy on Disability - 15 March 2026

The National Disability Council of Namibia (NDCN) hosted a two-day Stakeholder Education and Awareness Workshop on the Revised National Policy on Disability at Artemis Hotel in Swakopmund, Erongo Region.

This engagement forms part of the NDCN’s nationwide campaign to strengthen awareness and understanding of the policy among key stakeholders. The workshop provides a platform to discuss disability rights, promote inclusive development, and encourage collaboration in implementing the revised policy effectively.
 
Through initiatives like this, the NDCN remains committed to advancing the rights, participation, and empowerment of persons with disabilities, ensuring their full inclusion in Namibia’s development agenda.

Celebrating Achievement and Inclusion - 14 March 2026

The National Disability Council of Namibia (NDCN) proudly celebrates the achievements of students funded by the NDCN, who graduated on 06 March 2026 through Agra Provision Academy at the Windhoek Showgrounds.
 
Through its commitment to inclusive education, the NDCN continues to invest in the empowerment of persons with disabilities, supporting them in pursuing their academic goals and unlocking their full potential.
 
This milestone reflects the determination and resilience of the graduates, and the NDCN remains proud to have supported them on their educational journey.
